Create, modify, and organize keyframes on the correct tracks and frames.

01

Record changes on the current frame

In this version, canvas edits in Animation mode are recorded automatically on the current frame while playback is stopped. There is no separate visible auto-key switch to rely on; inspect the dope sheet after editing.

  1. 1

Change frames before changing the pose

In a custom animation, move the playhead to the intended frame and adjust a bone. Do not drag during playback and assume a key was created.

Expected resultA diamond appears on the bone's property track at the current frame.

Verify automatic keyframing by checking the current frame and the corresponding property track.
  2. 2

Leave and return to the frame

Move to another frame, then return. The canvas should restore the recorded pose.

Expected resultThe key is repeatable animation data, not a temporary canvas preview.

  3. 3

Add a key manually when needed

Select the intended channel and use New Keyframe or K. Use Shift + K to delete. Confirm the track and frame first.

Expected resultNo accidental key is created on another track or frame.

02

Select and move keyframes

  1. 1

    Select one key

Click a diamond, then use copy, delete, or easing. Some actions are unavailable without a selected key.

Expected resultOnly the intended key is highlighted; other tracks are unaffected.

This is the key to select before copying, deleting, or applying easing; a selected state is not presented as completed.
  2. 2

    Marquee-select several keys

Drag from an empty part of the timeline. Collapse unrelated channels first to narrow the selection area.

Expected resultOnly keys inside the intended region are selected.

Identify the intended tracks and key distribution before dragging a marquee selection from an empty timeline area.
  3. 3

Adjust the timing as a group

Drag keys to new frames. To move every property on a frame, drag the summary key at the top. Play the segment afterward to compare duration.

Expected resultRelated properties remain synchronized instead of splitting the pose across frames.

03

Copy, paste, delete, and clear

  1. 1

    Copy selected keys

Use Copy or Ctrl + C, move the playhead, then Paste or Ctrl + V. The confirmation reports the number of keys.

Expected resultThe same number of keys appears at the destination while the original selection remains available to check.

  2. 2

    Delete only the intended keys

Use Delete or Shift + K after selection. Play the affected interval immediately and compare with Undo.

Expected resultOnly the intended keys are removed, without affecting other animations.

  3. 3

    Confirm before clearing an animation

Clear All Keyframes opens a confirmation covering bone, image, constraint, draw-order, event, and attachment tracks. Use it only when you intend to rebuild the whole animation.

Expected resultYou understand the scope and can immediately Ctrl + Z after an accidental clear.

Clearing asks for confirmation and can be undone, but a project copy is still safer.
